Goa, a city of 588,000 people in India, has just one charging station, a figure that makes daily EV driving highly impractical for most residents. The presence of nine planned routes to or from the city suggests some regional connectivity is on the horizon, but without a local charging network, these routes serve mainly as transit corridors rather than enabling everyday use. The hot climate can reduce battery range by an estimated 10 to 20 percent, further limiting the utility of any EV in Goa, especially when the sole station may be far from many neighborhoods. The estimated EV count of zero underscores the current lack of adoption, driven by this infrastructure gap. For a city of this size, one station cannot support even a small fraction of potential daily trips, such as commuting or errands, unless drivers rely heavily on home charging, which remains unaccounted for in public data. Until more stations are built, Goa remains dependent on private charging solutions for any EV ownership.
