Chihuahua, with a population of 878,000, currently has zero public charging stations, making local EV use nearly impossible without a home charger. The city is, however, linked to eight planned routes, suggesting that while it is not yet ready for daily EV driving, it is being considered as a regional hub for longer-distance travel. The hot climate in this north-Mexican city can reduce battery range by roughly 10 to 20 percent, which would further strain any EV operation in the absence of charging infrastructure. For a city of this size, the complete lack of stations means that most residents cannot rely on an electric vehicle for typical commuting or errands. The eight routes imply that Chihuahua may eventually serve as a connection point for regional travel, but until stations are built, the city remains unprepared for everyday EV adoption.
